The Process
How the preliminary review works
Send a short inquiry
Use the form below to describe the collection. No photos are needed yet.
Share photographs
We’ll reply by email and ask for a few specific photos. Photos tell us whether a visit makes sense; they can’t establish value on their own.
In-person inspection
For worthwhile collections, we arrange a convenient time and place to examine the books, since condition drives value.
A clear, no-pressure offer
You receive a straightforward purchase offer and time to consider it. Accepting is entirely your choice.
Before You Write
Helpful information to gather
- Approximately how many comics there are (a rough count or number of boxes is fine)
- Approximate publication years, from cover dates or cover prices (10¢, 12¢, 15¢, and so on)
- Any titles, characters, or publishers you notice
- Whether any books are in sealed, labeled grading-company holders
- How they’ve been stored (closet, attic, garage, boxes, bags)
Please don’t clean, flatten, tape, or re-sort fragile books before photographing them.
An Important Distinction
A purchase offer is not an appraisal
A purchase offer is what Keller Vintage Comics is willing to pay. Like any buyer who intends to resell, that figure reflects resale costs and risk, and it will normally be below retail or auction prices.
A formal appraisal is an independent valuation for insurance, tax, estate, or legal purposes, prepared by a qualified appraiser with no interest in buying. Keller Vintage Comics does not provide formal appraisals. For high-value books, an auction house or consignment may also bring a better net result — and we’ll say so when it does. Our guide to inherited collections compares the options.
Collection Inquiry
Tell us about the collection
Fields marked * are required. Photos aren’t needed yet; we’ll request them by email after we reply.
What happens next
A personal reply, usually within two business days, with a request for specific photographs if the collection looks like a fit.
Please don’t ship
Don’t send comics without prior written arrangements. Photo review and in-person inspection come first.

Common Questions
Selling a comic collection: FAQ
Do you buy entire comic collections?
Yes. Keller Vintage Comics considers complete and partial collections as well as individual books. Not every collection is a fit — large runs of common later comics, for example, may be better sold another way — but every inquiry receives an honest answer.
What types of comics are you seeking?
Primarily Golden, Silver, and Bronze Age comics, generally published before 1985, with a particular interest in Marvel and DC. Raw and CGC-graded books are both welcome, along with related vintage comic material when appropriate.
Do the comics need to be professionally graded?
No. Most collections we see are ungraded, and there is no need to grade books before contacting us. Our guide on grading inherited comics explains when grading can make sense.
Do you provide formal appraisals?
No. Keller Vintage Comics is not a licensed or certified appraiser and does not provide appraisals for insurance, tax, estate, or legal purposes. What we provide is a purchase offer. If you need a formal valuation, an independent qualified appraiser is the right choice, and we’re glad to explain the difference.
What information should I send initially?
Your general location, roughly how many comics there are, the approximate years they were published, how the collection was acquired, whether any books are graded, and a short description of titles or publishers you notice. The form below asks for exactly this.
What photographs are most helpful?
After your first contact, we’ll ask by email for a few photos: the collection as it is stored, a handful of front covers laid flat in good light, and close-ups of the oldest or most interesting-looking issues. Please don’t remove books from bags or tape them; photograph them as they are.
Will you travel to inspect a collection?
Yes, for collections that look worthwhile after the photo review. Serving Brenham, College Station, Houston, Austin, and surrounding communities. Travel elsewhere in Texas may be considered for significant collections. There is no charge or obligation for an inspection.
Can I ship a collection to you?
Please don’t ship comics without prior written arrangements. Unrequested shipments risk damage and loss. Our focus is photo review followed by in-person inspection of qualifying regional collections.
What happens after I submit an inquiry?
You’ll receive a personal reply, usually within two business days, asking for photographs or follow-up details. If the collection looks like a fit, we’ll arrange an in-person look and then make a clear offer. You’re free to take time, get other opinions, or decline.
